Who operates UpcycleMe

UpcycleMe is an initiative of Simply Green LLC. Questions, access requests, and deletion requests can be sent to simplygreenks@gmail.com.

Photographs we process

UpcycleMe processes the photograph you choose only after you select the required consent checkbox. The photograph is resized and compressed on your device, then securely sent through UpcycleMe’s server to the Lovable AI Gateway and its OpenAI model for safety screening and material recognition. The recognised material information—not the photograph—is then used in a separate request for project suggestions.

UpcycleMe does not upload photographs to its application storage or create a public photograph URL. The compressed image is held only in memory for the duration of the analysis request and is not saved in the UpcycleMe database.

What you must not upload

Do not upload people, faces, children, animals, identity or financial documents, registration plates, correspondence, medical details, readable personal information, inappropriate content, or material that may be hazardous or contaminated. Automated screening may reject prohibited photographs.

Anonymous activity information

UpcycleMe stores a random browser session identifier as a one-way hash, event type, event key, and timestamp to count visits, scans, guides opened, and sessions active in the last five minutes. It does not store names or email addresses for these counters. Network information may be used transiently and hashed to prevent abuse; raw addresses are not saved in the counter records.

Why information is processed

Photographs are processed to check whether they are permitted, identify one of the four supported material categories, and provide four practical ideas. Anonymous activity information is processed to operate honest public counters, prevent abuse, and understand basic service use.

If you use the AI-content report form, UpcycleMe stores the report category, page path, optional description, timestamp, status and the same one-way session hash so Simply Green can review the report. Do not include personal information in the description. Reports are retained until reviewed and deleted by Simply Green; no fixed automatic expiry currently applies.

User-reported project completions

If you mark a guide as completed, Upcycle Me stores the project name and reference, completion date, reclaimed material categories, quantities and units you report, optional known weight, timestamps, and the same one-way browser-session hash. It does not add your uploaded photograph, name, email address, or other personal details to the completion record or share card.

Completion records provide public totals for user-reported completed projects and material quantities. These records are kept until you undo the completion, ask Simply Green to delete matching records using your deletion reference, or Simply Green changes this service. Correcting a completion updates the existing record for this browser and project. Without accounts, clearing browser storage or using another browser or device can create a duplicate that Upcycle Me cannot reliably recognise.

Providers and retention

Lovable Cloud provides the application backend and database. Photograph analysis is sent from UpcycleMe’s server to the Lovable AI Gateway, which routes the request to the OpenAI model gpt-6-astra. This is the only AI provider and model used by the production scanner.

UpcycleMe’s own photograph retention period is zero. The compressed image exists only in memory during the request; it is not written to application storage, no public photograph address is created, and no copy is saved in the UpcycleMe database.

The gateway keeps operational records such as date and time, model, request status, duration, token counts, credit cost and error details. Recent records inspected during our launch audit showed request payloads as redacted or truncated, but UpcycleMe cannot verify that every infrastructure log always excludes all request content. OpenAI states that API content is not used to train its models by default and may be retained in abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days, subject to its current terms and any legal or security exception.

Temporary rate-limit and active-session records older than 24 hours are removed by an hourly automated cleanup. Anonymous usage events, including a one-way session hash, are retained without a fixed expiry to provide cumulative counts until Simply Green deletes them or changes this service.

AI-generated visual guides

When you open a selected project, its title, material, tools, safety guidance and written steps are sent through the Lovable AI Gateway to OpenAI’s gpt-image-2.5-sunburst model to create the four-panel visual guide. Your uploaded photograph is not included in this image-generation request. The returned image is kept in temporary browser memory for the current visit and is not saved in UpcycleMe application storage. Provider-controlled operational logging or retention may still apply and cannot be deleted directly by UpcycleMe.

Diagnostics and service logs

UpcycleMe does not include a third-party advertising, location, or crash-reporting SDK. The hosting service, Lovable Cloud, the database service, the Lovable AI Gateway and OpenAI may process network addresses, request times, status codes, durations and error details to deliver, secure and troubleshoot the service. Server errors may include stack traces in restricted operational logs. Exact infrastructure-log retention is controlled by those providers and has not been independently verified by Simply Green.

Consent and your choices

You provide consent for each photograph by selecting the checkbox before analysis. You can withdraw before processing by leaving the box unselected, choosing another photograph, or closing the page. Once a request has been sent, it cannot be recalled from an analysis already in progress.

To ask about access or deletion, email simplygreenks@gmail.com. Because public counters use one-way anonymous identifiers, UpcycleMe may be unable to link a counter record to you without the identifier stored on your device. Clearing browser storage does not delete server records. To help us locate records created by this browser, copy the deletion reference below and include it in your email. We can remove matching usage, active-session, project-completion and AI-content-report records where they still exist. Rate-limit records combine this reference with a network address and normally cannot be linked from the reference alone; they expire automatically. We cannot link or delete provider logs that do not carry this reference.
